Efi Naveh said Saturday evening on N12's "Meet the Press" program about his run for the head of the Israeli Bar Association: "I am not an emissary of Yariv Levin."

Asked about his support for the legal revolution, he said that as it was presented it was wrong and should start with the prosecution and the police. "It's not a personal agenda," Naveh said, "There are cases that have been sitting there for five or ten years. Not just public cases. This means foreclosures, forfeitures, delays in leaving the country, lives destroyed." According to him, the reform needs to go somewhere else entirely.

Naveh said that in his opinion, the composition of the judicial selection committee should not change. He said the only professional bodies on the committee were judges and lawyers. Asked what he does support for the legal revolution, Naveh replied "in the Override Clause." Naveh also said that in his opinion, Justice Elron is a worthy candidate for president of the Supreme Court.

Naveh said he wanted to return to the position of head of the bar in order to "continue where I left off." According to him, the bureau he intends to lead will be professional, and his main interest is in acting on behalf of the lawyers, not political interests. He admitted that he had made a mistake in the past and "committed the sin of vanity," and now he seeks to make amends. Regarding Levin, Naveh said, "I will get along with Yariv Levin very well. Whoever is not justice minister, I will work with him in harmony and cooperation."
