If you don't go on holiday by car, you may be wondering where and, above all, how long you can park your car. Here's what you need to know.
By plane or by bus or train - due to the high fuel costs, people are increasingly using other means of transport than the car to go on holiday. But if you don't have a garage space for your car, you will be confronted with the question of how long your car is actually allowed to park on the street during your holiday.
A registered vehicle may be parked on public roads and parking lots in Germany without a time limit, as long as it has been properly parked. However, it becomes problematic when a temporaryno-parking zone is set up due to a construction site. Because if you don't move the car within three days, you will have to pay the cost of towing. Together with fines and storage costs, this can quickly add up to a higher three-digit sum.

You also have to reckon with thunderstorms and hail during your (summer) holiday. It becomes even more dangerous when oil leaks from their car. Because then you are threatened with a fine because the car becomes a source of danger. So it's worth it if you leave your car keys with a friend and they check on the vehicle every few days.

You should also make sure that you do not park your car under a honey lime tree, because the tree loses a sticky liquid that can damage the paintwork. A look at the traffic signs can't hurt either.
