In the video: Lieberman: The State of Israel finances the creation of an anti-Zionist majority in a Zionist state ("Dean. Torah, the annual conference of the Hartman Institute's Center for Judaism and State)
Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman made an unusual call Saturday evening to form a coalition with Netanyahu and the other Zionist parties in the Knesset, without the ultra-Orthodox and Religious Zionism and Otzma Yehudit, despite the fact that in recent years he has ruled out any sitting under Netanyahu as prime minister.
In a tweet, Lieberman wrote, "I have said countless times that the State of Israel right now needs a Zionist and liberal coalition, including the Likud movement and without the ultra-Orthodox and messianic parties. If Netanyahu is willing to part with his 'natural' partners, I will work with all my might to establish a Zionist and liberal coalition with a clear agenda – the establishment of a constitution and separation of church and state."
Yisrael Beiteinu fears that in the coming weeks the talks at the president's residence will lead to agreements between the coalition and Yesh Atid representatives, which will allow Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri to return to the cabinet table with one legal solution or another. Lieberman believes that such a step will strengthen Netanyahu's current coalition with the ultra-Orthodox and right-wing parties and provide it with long-term stability, so he began talking about an alternative government headed by Netanyahu with other partners.
