100 households have already registered: The farm and garden flea market will take place again. Bargain hunters love the date - and so do sociable Wolfratshausers.
Wolfratshausen – It has become a must-see event among bargain hunters, treasure hunters and declutterers – and is an example of a lively neighbourhood: the courtyard and garden flea market in Wolfratshausen. Participants throughout the city open their gardens or courtyard entrances and offer what they no longer need: electronics, clothing, toys, CD collections, books – in recent years, the selection has been huge. In view of more than 100 households that have already registered for the current edition, one can expect that there will be a lot on offer again.
Living neighbourhood in Wolfratshausen: Courtyard and garden flea market will take place again this year
The flea market is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 24. Providers can register until 20 June. On a digital city map, the organizers want to show where there is something to discover in Wolfratshausen. The 100 households registered so far have joined forces to form 70 sales outlets. "Some turn it into a neighbourly event and sell together," explains Ernst Wieser. For the association Citizens for Citizens, he has taken over the organization of the flea market. He knows: "Usually, a second big wave of participants arrives shortly before the registration deadline." The fact that so many registrations were received weeks before the sales date is a very good sign for Wieser. "That's a great number, and we're still hoping for a good final spurt and a second swing."

The participants are not only recognizable on a city map: The garden fences are decorated with balloons and other jewelry so that it is recognizable from afar where bargain hunters can come by to browse and chat.

Every year, the focus of the event is on interpersonal relationships and contact between neighbours and strangers – and not on the big Reibach. The "rules of the game" on the website state: "The Wolfratshausen farm and garden flea markets are a neighborly, non-commercial action." The participants came very close to this goal in recent years: Some poured drinks and used the flea market to get to know the neighborhood.
Farm and garden flea market 2023: Date in June is fixed
Compared to last year, there are two changes: While two sales days were recently scheduled – divided into the northern and southern sections of the Loisach city – everything now takes place on one day again. "We have noticed that many visitors also come from outside. And they only come on one day and not the whole weekend," explains Wieser.

In addition, this time the flea market will take place from 10 a.m. to 14 p.m., "because in previous years it has become quite hot in the afternoon", and the heat has drawn guests to the lake rather than to the neighboring courtyard. If the weather does not cooperate, the flea market will be postponed by one week, i.e. to Saturday, July 1st. This will be decided the day before the planned date.
