After 40 days of searching, the military forces found on Friday the four children who were lost since May 1 in the jungles of southern Colombia after suffering a plane crash in the plane they were traveling with three adults, whose bodies were found lifeless.
The children are Lesly Jacobombaire Mucutuy, 13; Soleiny Jacobombaire Mucutuy, 9; Tien Noriel Ronoque Mucutuy, 4, and Cristin Neriman Ranoque Mucutuy, 11 months.
"A joy for the whole country! The 4 children who were lost 40 days ago in the Colombian jungle appeared alive," Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced on his official Twitter account.
On May 17, the president had reported on that same social network that they had found the children. However, he later deleted the post and explained that it had been a mix-up.
