A thriving name of Spanish electronic pop, Ona Mafalda (London, 1994) publishes a debut album, Ona, inspired by the traditional music listened to by her father, Kyril from Bulgaria, and the Mediterranean landscape of Mallorca, where her mother, the former model Rosario Nadal, was born. In addition, she has just opened for Coldplay in their concerts in Barcelona.
Why have you gone from English to Spanish in your music? I decided during a performance at the Siroco hall in Madrid. At that time I only had repertoire in English, but I decided to sing a version in Spanish. The energy of the audience changed. I try to express myself in the language and style that feels most natural to me. Right now, it's in Spanish.
Have you faced any prejudice because you come from royalty? My parents have always supported me. I am aware of my advantages. Sometimes some people have preconceived ideas, but I try to work hard to make the music speak for itself.
How did you come to support Coldplay? It was a decision of the band and the local promoter. I was chosen for my music and for its support of women as opening acts, as was also the case with Hinds. It's funny, because my parents took me to several Coldplay concerts when I was little.
Remember the worst criticism of your life? I try to let them not affect me. And I admit that some have helped me improve.

And the last one he saw at once? The White Lotus, but I'm still going for the first season.
What book do you have on your bedside table right now? Macy's Swans, by Leticia Sala.
And one that didn't make it happen? I always finish them, even if I don't like them very much.
The last play you saw? The hidden sound, at the Pavón Theater in Madrid. Spectacular.
In which museum would he stay to live? At the Serpentine Galleries in London.
Do you have any guilty pleasure in cultural matters? Watch cartoons early in the morning, as if she is a little girl.
