It was temporarily suspended "in order to preserve everyone and in particular the school and the teaching team," Mathieu Sieye, inspector of the Academy of Var, told BFM Toulon. Yet François, a CM2 student at the primary school of Salernes, in the Var, says he has been a victim of harassment since CP. But after several years of disputes between the boy's parents and the school's management, the academy decided: it was François who was temporarily deprived of schooling.
The child would be the victim of incessant mockery, as he testified to our confreres. "Since CP, they tell me bad words, that I'm fat as a cow, that I shouldn't be born, things a little vulgar too," says François. I'm used to them saying insults to me, but it still hurts me. Either I tell them to stop, or I go to the teacher who says: 'Oh no no no Francis, they are right'.
A very different speech at the academy
The boy's mother explains that she has collected several testimonies from parents of students and classmates of her son's class. The staff of the establishment also reported similar facts to BFM Toulon. But for the academy, harassment would never have been highlighted in this case. On the contrary, the academy inspector evokes a difficult and sometimes violent behavior of the child, and an aggressive attitude of the parents. "The idea is to protect him, to protect everyone," insists Mathieu Sieye to the channel.
