Activists of the climate protection group Letzte Generation sprayed paint on a clothing store for luxury fashion and a jeweler in Kampen on Sylt on Friday. The police are still in use, said a spokeswoman for the Flensburg police department at noon.
Kampen - According to a dpa reporter, several activists initially used fire extinguishers to color the store fronts orange. Subsequently, they placed themselves with posters in front of the shops. "Who are you doing politics for, Chancellor Scholz?" one read. When the police arrived, four people were also stuck to the ground. Many holidaymakers and passers-by gathered around the event.
The Last Generation referred to the action in a Twitter post. Demonstrators of the group had already sprayed a private plane with paint on Sylt in June and damaged a golf course.
The Last Generation had announced targeted protest actions against rich people. The climate catastrophe is being made "primarily by the rich", and the group had justified this. Dpa
