Nuremberg – Once again, the last generation has glued itself to Nuremberg's streets. But the motorists who were stopped by the protest action at the Frauentorgraben early on Monday morning, June 19, did not want to stand idly by: According to a media report, a video on Twitter, which can no longer be accessed, showed how passers-by first yell at the climate activists – and finally have no fear of fisticuffs. Only the deployment of the Nuremberg police resolved the escalated situation.

"What's your problem, get off the street, man!" a passer-by shouts at the climate stickers, according to nordbayern.de's report. He keeps shouting "Fuck off, kindergarten, or what?!" According to the article, he grabs a young man who was in the process of gluing himself to the road under the armpits and drags him away.

The video, which is about one and a half minutes long, shows a second man who also begins to remove the activists from the street, the portal continues. A woman tries to arbitrate, the noise level is increasing. According to the report, the first angry motorist knocks over a demonstrator, whom he will even kick afterwards.

In the aftermath, one of the activists told nordbayern.de: "I was really afraid that he would beat me now". "Nevertheless, it's frightening what people are capable of," says the 20-year-old.

Activist does not want to file a complaint – police investigate against climate glue

Nevertheless, he did not file a complaint. "We don't protest against the people and the cars, so we have no intention of getting lost in civil disputes." After several protest actions, he knows the usual procedure: As soon as the police appear at the scene, the drivers usually calm down again, he tells nordbayern.de. He himself, on the other hand, is threatened with legal consequences: According to the report of the police headquarters in Middle Franconia, the criminal investigation department is investigating, among other things, on suspicion of coercion against the three activists.

The officials evaluated the blockade action around 7 a.m. at Nuremberg's Frauentorgraben as an unreported event, immediately cordoned off the affected area and removed the climate adhesives from the ground. It took about an hour and a half for the activists to be removed from the road and the roadway was reopened. The police ask road users who were affected by the traffic jam or were diverted to call 0911 2112 - 3333.
