The Stuttgart Ministry of the Interior has defended the appearance of climate activists at events of the University of Police in Villingen-Schwenningen. The principle of freedom of research and teaching also applies to the university in the Black Forest, the ministry led by department head Thomas Strobl (CDU) told the German Press Agency in Stuttgart on Tuesday.
Stuttgart - Previously, "Bild" had reported.
The representatives of the climate group Last Generation appeared on May 16 at a so-called Studium generale of the university. It was about the climate protests of this group, as can be seen from a previously unpublished written response from the ministry in mid-August to a request from the AfD parliamentary group. The answer is available to the German Press Agency. Studium generale is usually used to describe university courses that contribute to general knowledge.
On March 21, members of the group had already been connected by video at an event of the training center in the Schwarzwald-Baar district on the topic of "current operational situations", the ministry wrote. Dpa
