Early Tuesday morning, August 22, activists of the "Last Generation" also blocked the BMW plant near Regensburg. © "Last Generation"
Activists of the "Last Generation" blocked roads in Regensburg at the beginning of the week. However, they also made two mistakes in the process.
Regensburg – As announced in a press release on Saturday, activists of the "Last Generation" blocked several streets in and around Regensburg on Monday, August 21, and Tuesday, August 22. For the most part, the activists were successful in stopping traffic, including clashes with angry motorists. On two streets, however, the blockade action unintentionally went nowhere.
Blockade of an important transport link – if it weren't closed
On Monday, the activists of the "Last Generation" also glued themselves to the southern end of the Nibelungen Bridge. Usually an essential connection across the Danube between the city center and the north. As bild.de reported, however, the adhesives made their calculation without the municipal building authority.
Because this had ordered the two-week renovation of the bridge, which had begun on Monday of all days – which is why no cars used the road. This was even pointed out to the activists by motorists who passed by the scene. But the glue was already sticking. According to bild.de, a spokeswoman for the police finally confirmed that officers finally had to detach the activists from the unused road.

"Last generation" blocks BMW plant access roads – but it's holidays there
On Tuesday, the activists of the "Last Generation" then set their sights on the BMW plant in Regensburg, but not everything went as planned. Because here, too, the climate activists had overlooked a trifle. The access roads to the BMW plant were blocked by the "Last Generation" on Tuesday, of all days, during its factory holidays.
The action had no impact on production, as the plant had factory holidays this week and production was suspended, a company spokesman said. While the other sticking actions of the "Last Generation" on the two days were probably successful from their point of view, they pretty much went nowhere twice. (FHZ)
