A 13-year-old boy gets on a wagon at the Ettlingen train station in Baden-Württemberg and pays for it with his life. The police give details.
Ettlingen – A fatal accident occurred on Friday evening (8 September) in Baden-Württemberg. While trying to jump on a train car, a teenager was fatally injured at the train station in Ettlingen in the district of Karlsruhe. Police said in a statement on Saturday (September 9) that the teenager killed was a 13-year-old boy. The boy was not alone in the daring incident, he was accompanied by a friend. He was not injured in the accident.
Tragic accident in Baden-Württemberg - teenager (13) climbs on train carriage and dies of electrocution
According to the police, the accident occurred on Friday around 20.35 pm. The 13-year-old had climbed with his friend first on a parked train wagon and then tried to jump on the next wagon. This resulted in an electric arc on the overhead line. This was confirmed by the police in the statement. The boy was electrocuted and died on the spot. As the police further explained in their statement, the boyfriend of the teenager was not physically injured in the incident.
