Kiev said it had filed a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against its three European Union neighbors — Poland, Slovakia and Hungary — over a ban on Ukrainian wheat imports. "It is of paramount importance for us to demonstrate that individual member states cannot ban imports of Ukrainian products," Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said in a statement. "That's why we're filing a lawsuit against them."
"Ukraine's appeal to the WTO does not impress us. We are not going to back down from the embargo we imposed for this reason." Polish government spokesman Piotr Müller commented on Kiev's decision to sue Poland, Slovakia and Hungary at the WTO over the ban on Ukrainian wheat imports.
