A new video of the death of a cyclist has shocked the State of Nevada. Andreas Probst, a retired police officer, was struck north of Las Vegas on Aug. 14 by a teenage driver in a stolen vehicle.
Probst's family received an alert from his smartwatch showing the man had fallen. Upon arriving at the scene they were notified that the man had been taken to hospital, where he died.
The 17-year-old driver was arrested the same day after attempting to flee. The video, released over the weekend and recorded by the co-pilot of the vehicle has shown that the run over was intentional, so the police have decided to file additional charges against the detainee, now for homicide.
On September 10, community members and family members paid tribute to the victim. At the place of his death a 'ghost bicycle' was placed in his memory.
