On Sunday, TV viewers were once again spoilt for choice. Thanks to "Polizeiruf 110", the ARD achieved a mega success.
Berlin – On Sunday (17 September), all sorts of things were once again on offer on free TV. From Marvel movies to heartbreak to crime thrillers, everything was there. However, the majority of viewers were unanimous at primetime and gave the first one a fantastic rating.
"Polizeiruf 110" even leaves the "Tatort" behind at primetime
Actually, the "crime scene" is considered a quota guarantor. Nevertheless, the production had announced changes and some stars like Til Schweiger have to leave the "crime scene". But the ARD also has another crime ace up its sleeve: "Polizeiruf 110" knew how to convince viewers on Sunday evening.
As can be seen from the DWDL number center, "Polizeiruf 110: Little Boxes" was clearly at the top. With 6.98 million viewers and a market share of 26.2 percent of the total audience, the crime thriller is the most-watched show of the day. ZDF, on the other hand, showed the second episode of "Hotel Barcelona" as part of its heart cinema. With 3.10 million viewers and 11.6 percent of the total audience, however, it could not keep up with the first – as did the rest of the stations.
"Polizeiruf 110" got its own stamp
In 2021, "Polizeiruf 110" received a very special honor: For its 50th anniversary, the series received its own stamp with a nominal value of 95 cents. On it you can see the helicopter and the logo from the original opening credits. The whole thing was designed by graphic designer Thomas Steinacker from Bonn.
"Polizeiruf 110" scores even better than "Tatort"
Despite the day's victory, 6.98 million viewers for "Polizeiruf 110" mean the lowest reach for a first broadcast of the series since July last year. Compared to the Frankfurt "Tatort" in the previous week, however, this is still pleasing. Almost 800,000 more people watched "Polizeiruf 110".

Soon the signs are pointing to farewell in the ARD, after some actors had announced their departure. Then the last episodes of "Tatort" with Heike Makatsch, Dagmar Manzel and Axel Milberg will be shown. Sources used:dwdl.de
