Consumers beware: The Freising dairy Weihenstephan is currently recalling two of its products - and warns of possible dangers when consumed.
Freising - Molkerei Weihenstephan GmbH is recalling its product Weihenstephan Fresh Milk 1.5% fat (1 liter and 0.5 liter). As part of a self-examination, microbiological deviations were found that can be triggers for infections, according to a press release dated September 21, 2023 from the Freising-based company. Especially in vulnerable groups of people - such as infants, toddlers, pregnant women, the elderly and people with a weakened immune system - "these can possibly be serious," the recall says. Therefore, customers should not consume the affected products.
For reasons of consistent consumer protection, the dairy reacted immediately and had the affected food removed from sale. "The causal technical problem has now been resolved," the statement continues.
Specifically, the recall is about these products
These are only the following products with the best-before dates: Weihenstephan Fresh Milk 1.5% fat (1 litre) Best before 06.10.2023 + 08.10.2023 and Weihenstephan Fresh Milk 1.5% fat (0.5 litres) Best before 07.10.2023. All other varieties, products and best-before dates of the Weihenstephan brand are not affected, the company emphasizes.

And the message goes on to say: "We ask consumers who have the above-mentioned products with the specified best-before dates at home not to consume the corresponding products, but to return them to the point of sale." There, the product is exchanged or reimbursed even without a receipt. We regret the incident "and we apologize to all consumers for the inconvenience caused".
