Warsaw defuses any controversy
Polish President Andrzej Duda said Thursday that his prime minister's statement the day before that Poland was ceasing to supply weapons to Ukraine had been badly addressed.
"The lyrics (of Mateusz Morawiecki) were interpreted in the worst possible way. (...) In my opinion, the prime minister meant that we will not transfer to Ukraine the new armament we are acquiring to modernize the Polish army," Duda told TVN24.

But no long-range missiles
On the other hand, Washington will not currently supply the ATACMS long-range missiles that Kiev is demanding. President Biden has "decided that he will not provide ATACMS (missiles)," US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said at a news conference. "He has not ruled out this possibility in the future," he said.

Abrams tanks arrive
US President Joe Biden assured Thursday that the first Abrams tanks would arrive in Ukraine "next week", in order to strengthen the Ukrainian armed forces in their counteroffensive against Russian forces.
"Next week, the first American Abrams tanks will be delivered to Ukraine," said the Democratic leader at the White House, in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is making his second visit to Washington since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Joe Biden also announced that he had approved a new tranche of military assistance to Kiev, valued by the Pentagon at some $ 325 million.
It includes air defense missiles, ammunition for Himars multiple rocket launchers, anti-tank weapons and artillery ammunition.
