Effenberg kiss, a police operation triggered by Micaela Schäfer, coke affair: the Oktoberfest is regularly accompanied by scandals. A selection.
/ 6Surrounded by police officers: Erotic model Micaela Schäfer likes to show herself scantily clad – of course, there shouldn't be too many clothes at the Oktoberfest. In 2016, Schäfer and her friend Yvonne Woelke triggered a police operation. The two each wore briefs and a beer glass bra. Too little for the Munich police: officers led the duo in blankets to the Oktoberfest guard. There was no advertisement, but the model had to leave the Oktoberfest. © Imago/Vistapress
/ 6In April 2023, Donisl and Bräurosl boss Peter Reichert made his first public statement about hygiene deficiencies and a scuffle at the Oktoberfest. During the 187th Oktoberfest, there was a brawl between Reichert and a young security guard. In addition, the district administration department had found violations of food quality in February 2021 and during the Oktoberfest. The head of the brewery was accused of intentionally placing food on the market that is unsuitable for human consumption. Despite allegations of hygiene deficiencies, the district administration department classified Reichert as reliable at the beginning of May. He is allowed to remain Wiesnwirt. © Imago/B. Lindenthaler
/ 6Seem to love each other quite a bit: In 2010, former footballer Stefan Effenberg and his "re-wife" and model Claudia Effenberg didn't let anything or anyone bother them. 4 / 6Because he had bought four grams of cocaine, the former Oktoberfest host of the Schützenzelt, Ludwig Reinbold, was sentenced to a fine of 72,000 euros. A key witness for the public prosecutor's office had blown the whistle on him. Reinbold first appealed against the penalty order, but then withdrew the appeal. Reinbold no longer became a Wiesnwirt, the application deadline for the Oktoberfest had expired on New Year's Eve 2021. © Sigi Jantz
/ 6Take the shuttle bus to the brothel for free? In 2009, the operators of the brothel "Pascha" in Munich wanted to recruit Oktoberfest visitors in exactly the same way. The district administration department had prohibited the action in time, as the evening newspaper reported. © Rald Kruse
/ 62017, two Tyrolean brass bands from the Zillertal played the "Standschützenmarsch" at the traditional costume and shooting parade. The bands received a lot of criticism for this, because the march is considered a relic of the Austrian Nazi era. The composer Sepp Tanzer had written the piece in 1942 for Franz Hofer – Gauleiter of Tyrol in his time – and even performed it in front of Hitler and Mussolini, as Süddeutsche.de reported. © picture alliance / dpa | Andreas Gebert (symbolic image from 2016)
