Many make a big mistake when shopping unnoticed. Cashiers and other customers have been annoyed by this for a long time. Apparently, a Rewe team has had enough.
Taunusstein/Berlin - An absolute bad habit of many customers has been annoying not only since the beginning of the Corona crisis: Putting deposit vouchers in your mouth is an absolute no-go! Apart from a possible risk of infection - even beyond Corona - it's just disgusting! That's why supermarkets also hang up signs again and again.
In December 2022, a corresponding photo caused a stir, posted on the Instagram page "Notes of Germany". According to the information, it was built in Taunusstein near Wiesbaden. Most likely in a Rewe store, that's what the optics indicate.
A handwritten sign hangs on the deposit machine: "Dear customers, for hygienic reasons, we ask you not to put the empties vouchers in your mouth. Thank you!" Obviously, the Rewe team had had enough, and the employees were fed up with constantly picking up customers' receipts.
Reactions were mixed. Some felt caught. "Unfortunately, I always do", "I've been doing this for years" and "Ok, I'll stick to it now. Sorry," they wrote. Another said: "Come on, if you have never resorted to this holding method in desperation with your hands full, throw the first deposit receipt."

A comparable sign ended up photographed on the Instagram page "Notes Of Berlin" as early as 2020. It reads: "For hygienic reasons, please do not put the deposit vouchers in your mouth. Thank you for your understanding."
In 2020, too, many felt addressed. "Oh Misto, I did that really often so as not to forget them," wrote one user. "Haha I thought I was alone," said another. And someone else explained: "Me too, but I've only now become aware of that."
