Three men held responsible for a brutal beating against a manager of Salcef, a company involved in the design of the Tavin Veneto construction sites, were arrested this morning by the Carabinieri of the Vicenza investigative unit. An investigation that lasted months: the man, a 66-year-old Roman, had been attacked with a baseball bat, outside the Tav construction site in MontebelloVicentino, suffering very serious injuries.
This morning the investigators executed the pre-trial detention orders against the three, aged 45, 46 and 52, residing in the provinces of Milan and Monza Brianza, all with criminal records. One of the three arrested, among other things, was placed on probation with social services and could not have left the territory of Lombardy.
The investigations, coordinated by the Vicenza Public Prosecutor's Office, continue to ascertain the exact motive of the punitive expedition.
The incident happened last May. The three attackers had waited for hours for the victim, outside the construction site: with an SUV they had blocked the manager's car and once they got out of the cockpit they had beaten him with a baseball bat, causing him trauma and fractures throughout his body. Only the intervention of some workers of the construction site had stopped the weighing, filmed by some security cameras. Images from which the investigators had then extrapolated useful elements for the identification of the group.
