Even though it is only halfway through the 2020 to 2026 local election period, the parties are beginning to think about their top personnel.
Erding - Mayor Max Götz (CSU) was the first to venture out of hiding, who had declared in an interview with our newspaper at the end of August that he would run again in 2026 - it would be his fourth term in office.
Now something is also happening with the Free Voters. According to information from our newspaper, the city council group sat together on Monday. Now two names are circulating: that of 2nd Mayor Petra Bauernfeind (53) and that of FW parliamentary group spokesman Hans Fehlberger (52).
"I can imagine it again," Bauernfeind says at the request of our newspaper. It would be her third candidacy. That's exactly how many Götz needed before he succeeded Bauernfeind's husband Karl-Heinz in 2008. "We are still at the very beginning. It is still far too early to make a decision," emphasizes the deputy mayor, "the party and parliamentary group must be fully behind it." Bauernfeind is recognized as Götz's deputy and is regarded as an active chairwoman of the Nachbarschaftshilfe and thus also of the Tafel Erding beyond politics.
Fehlberger explains: "Nothing has been decided yet, but I don't rule it out either." He wants to give himself another year. "If the worst comes to the worst, it has to be guaranteed that my sons will take over the company," says the owner of a large agricultural technology company. However, the relationship with the mayor is considered tense,
A number three in the Erdinger FW candidate race is rather unlikely. It is assumed that Rainer Mehringer will concentrate more on the district and try to remain 3rd district administrator. Ham
