2023-09-22T03:15:54.554Z

Highlights: A Ukrainian company wants to make a dummy model of the Leopard 2 tank. The basis is therefore an ordinary Ford pickup. Numerous elements on the roof of the vehicle are arranged in such a way that it visually resembles a Leopard tank. In contrast to previously used dummy tanks, the new model can be controlled remotely from a safe distance. It is also easy to assemble and disassemble. In this way, the vehicle can be transported by truck to where it is needed as an object of deception.

With a remote-controlled tank dummy, Ukraine wants to deceive Russian soldiers. A simple Ford pickup truck becomes bait on the battlefield.

Kyiv – In its defensive fight against Russia, Ukraine has repeatedly proven that it is well versed in asymmetric warfare. Due to the lower or inferior weaponry and the numerical inferiority to Vladimir Putin's army, the attacked country must compensate for this disadvantage.

For example, the Ukrainian armed forces have already reproduced spare parts for drones in 3D printers, and private individuals have made the flying objects at home, and self-made cardboard drones have even destroyed Russian fighter jets. Now a Ukrainian company seems to have designed a new dummy to confuse Russian soldiers.

Remote-controlled, simple, lightweight: Ukrainian company builds dummy Leopard 2 tank

The company Temerland LLC from Ukraine is said to be currently working on a replica of the Leopard 2 tank. The "first autonomous active mannequin" of the German Leopard 2 main battle tank will be made of metal as early as this week, CEO Eduard Trotsenko told Ukrainian Medium Defense Express, which specializes in military news.

According to its own statements, the medium received model drawings of the dummy.

Ukraine wants to deceive Russia in the war with tank dummies

The goal is to fool enemy troops into believing they have greater troop strength in the Ukraine war or to entice them to fire costly artillery shells and anti-tank weapons at relatively cheap dummies. So far, hundreds of such replicas are said to have been destroyed. On the battlefield, Russia is trying a camouflage camouflage of the tanks.
