Viral Thred
We are disappointed. We were so happy to see the cyclist catch her harasser and take revenge on him for what he did to her – that we still want to believe that this video is real, even though an eyewitness claims otherwise.
On Tuesday, a scandalous video was posted online by the viral content company Jungle Creations - showing a van driver harassing a young cyclist who stopped beside him at a traffic light on one of London's main streets. The driver blatantly harassed the cyclist and refused to let her go until the traffic light changed to green.
The cyclist did not remain indifferent to his derogatory comments (which worsened after he received a refusal) and reacted angrily by hitting the vehicle and symbolizing the driver with a triple finger. As the driver of the van continued driving, the bike driver seemed unwilling to give up easily and chased him until he parked his car on the side of a nearby street. When she catches up with him, she stops the bike, rips the side mirror out of the car and runs away, leaving the driver and passenger in shock. This whole huge situation is filmed all this time by a motorcyclist who followed the scene and even intervened when he saw that the harasser got what he deserved.

After the video was posted online and on many news sites and received tens of millions of views and countless comments and shares, an eyewitness popped up claiming that the actors were involved and that the entire video was staged.
Even before he opened his mouth, there were quite a few online who questioned the credibility of the video - because it is simply too good to be true. The fact that the motorcyclist was able to document the entire incident on camera, the ease with which the cyclist managed to tear off the mirror and the quick defeatism of the van driver raise questions about the credibility of the video. Reinforcing their thoughts was eyewitness Scott Dean, who told The Sun that he was just there across the street when he saw a blond man giving directions to the cyclist, "Then three guys dressed in a glowing vest appeared in the van, and the blond guy gave them directions too," he said, "He told the girl, 'You need to chase the van aggressively.'" Dean added that he saw the actors repeat the scene two or three times.
What do you say? Staged or real?
Paul Bayboer, founder of Jungle Creations, claims that the company received the video from a stranger and posted it under the impression that it was a real event. He denied rumors that the company created the video for promotional purposes. Melissa Chapman, also of Jungle Creations, wrote on Facebook that the company received the video by email and bought the broadcast rights after seeing its viral potential. She added that there was no major conspiracy behind it, as viewers claimed. However, disappointed viewers also noted that the fact that many simply assumed the video was real only proves how commonplace sexual harassment of women on the street is.
