The weather in Munich has been midsummer in the past few days. It will be cooler and rainier at the weekend before it starts to pick up again.
Update from September 24, 9:45 a.m.: The bad weather in Munich lasted for two days. Especially on Friday it rained almost all day, and the temperatures crashed from midsummer 28 on Thursday to autumnal 14. Saturday was also quite modest: cloudy skies and barely above 16 degrees forced Oktoberfest visitors to wear thick cardigans and warm socks. Now, on the middle Sunday of the Oktoberfest, the turning point: The sun shines over Munich again.
Weather at the Oktoberfest: After the onset of autumn - dream forecast for the second week
As wetter.com predicts, the thermometer is now climbing higher and higher day by day. Even 26 degrees can be reached again on Wednesday. In addition, according to the weather portal, there is plenty of sun. From morning to night, the Oktoberfest shines on the Theresienwiese.
First reported on 22 September
Munich - It was almost like summer on the Theresienwiese these days. At 28 degrees at the peak, it was steaming tremendously in the Oktoberfest tents, the beer gardens were the chosen place for most to enjoy the cool mass. All in all, the weather at this year's Oktoberfest has been summery so far, only a small blemish has clouded the imperial weather since the tapping.
And now? On Friday (22 September) suddenly the stark opposite: temperature drop by 15 degrees - from 28 on Thursday to 13 on Friday morning. The end of the summer folk festival weather? Hardly.

My Area
As the German Weather Service predicts, the weather will probably recover within a very short time. Bitter for Oktoberfest fans: Exactly for the middle weekend, the juicy cooling should be preserved. For the traditional Italian weekend, Oktoberfest fans from the south have to dress warmly. Recurring precipitation is also on the agenda - until Sunday. From then, according to the weather service, the low-pressure area should move away from Dannen again - and give way to the next high-pressure area.
Rain and cooling off at the Oktoberfest - then the sun comes back
For example, wetter.com explains that the sun will be shining again in Munich as early as Sunday (24 September). If the forecasts are to be believed, the high-pressure area is expected to last for almost the entire rest of the Oktoberfest.
If the maximum temperatures on Sunday are still to be 17 degrees, the models dare to make a climbing forecast for the temperatures on the Theresienwiese. From 17 to 19, then to 20, finally up to 23 degrees it should be warm in the course of the next week. So for beer drinkers and roller coaster riders, it's time to pack your umbrella, put on your rain jacket, and create a cozy atmosphere in the beer gardens again next week.
