On Friday, September 22, a beautiful line-up of filmmakers huddles into the back room of the Grand Amour restaurant, a stone's throw from the Gare de l'Est. Around Pascale Ferran are gathered Cédric Klapisch, Laurent Cantet, Bertrand Bonello and Rebecca Zlotowski. Michel Hazanavicius is late. Just like Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, who finally take place side by side - out of the question to separate them. All these beautiful people wet the jersey for LaCinetek, originally designed (in 2015) as a "friendly and arborescent site". These filmmakers-cinephiles are not marketing geniuses but they are passionate. LaCinetek is not a video-on-demand platform like any other. No algorithms but directors who make up the list of their bedside films.
