Israeli security forces detained eight wanted Palestinians who were hiding at Birzeit University in Ramallah on Sunday night, planning to carry out an attack in the immediate future. Meanwhile, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said in a joint statement on Sunday that they would escalate the armed struggle against Israel and strengthen cooperation in all areas. The statement was made at the end of a meeting of senior PFLP figures, including Hamas deputy leader Salah Arouri, Islamic Jihad secretary general Ziad Nahaleh, and PFLP deputy secretary general Jamil Mazhar.
