Schlehdorf - As part of the TV documentary series "Einfach Mensch", Moritz Oehme was accompanied in his work in Schlehdorf. He has Down syndrome and is a care assistant.

Schlehdorf – In a detailed presentation, the usual course of the day is illustrated by Moritz Oehme from Schlehdorf. The ZDF team accompanies Oehme in his familiar surroundings and sheds light on his career, his interests and his work at the Lindenhof care center.

The report outlines Oehme's activities as a care assistant and his interactions with residents. The recordings include not only various everyday situations, but also conversations, comments and interviews with Oehme himself, colleagues, residents and the management of the facility.

Interpersonal relationships were captured

The professional ZDF crew captured the different facets of Oehme's life in the care center as well as his relationships with the residents. Particularly touching and emotional moments were captured with great empathy.

Director Andrea Schuler was pleased to emphasize: "We also had a lot of fun shooting today. Some residents were able to laugh heartily at themselves and the filming conditions." A day of shooting lasted an average of eight to ten hours, including preparation and post-production. An additional challenge for the team was the handling of the mobile camera and sound recording equipment, which weighed about ten kilos.

Fun during the filming

Oehme himself was enthusiastic: "It's all very exciting and interesting. At first I was excited, but now I've gotten used to being filmed and interviewed by ZDF." Particularly noteworthy was Oehme's performance of Schuhplatteln during the coffee round of the residents. The interlude was musically accompanied by his colleague Kathrin Resch.
