These are the "most romantic cities in Germany" – Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg at the forefront

In a nationwide study, the online platform "Travelcircus" has chosen Germany's most romantic cities. With historic buildings, beautiful green spaces and ideal dating backdrops, three cities from Baden-Württemberg have placed themselves far ahead.

Stuttgart - Love is in the Air: In search of Germany's romantic hotspots, Travelcircus has compiled a list of the 14 most romantic cities in Germany. These were able to score points in the categories romantic restaurants, cinema, Instagram posts, romantic search volume (combinations of romantic search words and city, city and search words, search volume per square kilometer and search volume per inhabitant) and extra (plus points for old town, location on the river, lake or sea).

First, the study looked at the Google search volume of romantic keywords in all 2,058 cities in Germany. Based on the results, the top 100 with the most search volumes per inhabitant and per area were then filtered. From this, a list of 135 cities was compiled. Since smaller cities could be at a disadvantage due to their size or population, they were taken into account in advance in factors such as romantic restaurants, cinemas and Instagram posts. A maximum of five points could be achieved per category, except in the extra points category, for which a maximum of four points were awarded.

Germany's most romantic cities: Baden-Württemberg in the top 10 three times

The fact that the state really does not need to hide in terms of romance in a nationwide comparison is shown by the final result of the Travelcircus study: Ludwigsburg with a total of 14.22 out of a maximum of 24 points and just behind Stuttgart with 14.18 points are far ahead in the race for Baden-Württemberg in sixth and eighth place. Heidelberg in tenth place rounds off the great result for "The Länd". At the top of the ranking was Munich (15.60) ahead of the 8000-soul village of Kühlungsborn (Rostock district) and Tegernsee in Bavaria (15.38).

With an impressive 3.70 out of 5 possible points, Stuttgart shows its multi-layered culinary side. In a sometimes special ambience, couples can enjoy the huge selection of international and regional dishes of Stuttgart and then end the evening with a walk through the city center.

The district of Ludwigsburg allows romantic cinema evenings at any time of the year

In the study, Ludwigsburg becomes a pioneer in cinema and is the only city to achieve full marks in the ranking. The reasons for this are likely to be the versatile cinema options that can be enjoyed in any weather. In the nearby drive-in cinema in Kornwestheim, couples can spend their time together comfortably in the car. Not far from the center, couples can watch films in the open air in August at the Ludwigsburg Summer Night Open-Air Cinema in the Karlskaserne. There is also a special cinema in Leonberg in the district of Stuttgart: there is the first bed cinema in southern Germany.

Stuttgart performs better than Ludwigsburg in the Instagram posts category. As a diverse city with many potential Instagram spots as well as romantic events, Stuttgart offers inspiration for creative posts with places like Wilhelma, Killesberg, TV Tower or Cannstatter Wasen.
