At least eight people, seven passengers and a crew member, were taken to a hospital for medical attention on Monday after a JetBlue flight, which took off from Ecuador to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, experienced severe turbulence, according to the company.
Flight 1256, which had departed from Guayaquil, suffered "severe and sudden turbulence" upon arrival in Florida, the airline said in a statement sent to local station Noticias Telemundo.

The plane landed safely at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, but eight people had to be treated by medical personnel and taken to a hospital.
There was no information on what injuries they sustained or how serious they were. Nor have details about the identity of those affected transcended.

The flight lasted four hours and 33 minutes. It took off Monday at 12:20 a.m. in Ecuador and landed at 5:24 a.m. in Florida, according to the FlightAware platform. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, has a capacity of 140 to 170 passengers.
"JetBlue will work to support our customers and crew," the airline said in the statement, which also said the plane was removed for inspection.
