"You are gay, I will publish all your photos as a transvestite on Facebook, I will make your life impossible, I will kill you, I will cut off your head". The threats are from a 57-year-old man and are aimed at his twenty-year-old son who had decided to come out and confess his homosexuality to his parents. The violent father is now in prison for mistreatment in the family on the disposition of the Foggia judiciary. It is a story of violence and oppression that also has as its victim the man's wife and the boy's mother.
The woman suffered mistreatment and death threats when she tried to defend her son's life choice: "You are worth nothing, I will kill you, I will cut off your head", was her husband's response. According to police investigations, hell for mother and son began in November 2022. Since then, on more than one occasion, police officers have intervened at the suspect's home following reports of ongoing disputes. On one occasion the man would have physically attacked, brandishing a knife, mother and son, also recipients of psychological violence. On another occasion, as highlighted in the arrest order, the police, arrived at the man's home, collected the testimony of the boy who explained to the agents that "the father was in the house holding a sharp knife with which he had threatened him". On the same occasion, the mother confirmed "that she had been a victim of abuse by her husband for years".
The man, according to what has been reconstructed, often returned home drunk, verbally and physically assaulted the woman and her son, so much so as to cause them injuries and bruises judged healable in a few days. The prosecutor, in the request for pre-trial detention, writes that "the modalities of the conduct allow us to believe that the man has no capacity for self-control and that he will continue to repeat the conduct towards his wife and son without hesitation and despite the intervention of the police". In fact, the prosecutor highlights, the suspect did not interrupt "his conduct even in consideration of the serious health conditions of his wife" affected by a serious pathology.
