Due to construction work, workers have put up a sign on behalf of the city. This contains an embarrassing error. It refers to Ellis-Kraut Street.
Munich - He prefers to play jokes - the Pumuckl. And so the little nuisance in Freiham could well go to the account of the red-haired goblin. As you know, people don't get too annoyed. But puff cakes! A construction company commissioned by the building department has now turned the street named after Pumuckl's inventor Ellis Kaut into "Ellis-Kraut-Straße". And that at the Oktoberfest, of all places. The children's book author Kaut was not only the recipient of numerous prizes (München leuchten, Ernst Hoferichter Prize, Bavarian Order of Merit), but also the first officially crowned Münchner Kindl - at the age of 17 in 1938. Kaut unfortunately died on September 24, 2015 at the age of 94. Her grave is located in the cemetery Obermenzing. In 2017, Ellis-Kaut-Straße was named in the Freiham development area.
And that's where construction is going on right now. In the coming months, the Freihamer Anger is to be built along Hans-Clarin-Weg from Otto-Meitinger-Straße to Gustl-Bayrhammer-Straße. Be completed section by section. At this point in Munich, the building department is implementing a four-metre-wide bidirectional cycle path on the west side and a three-metre-wide sidewalk on the east side. The adjacent open spaces of the Angers form a green open space with recreational and ecological quality. A central square is being created in the district centre - with a fountain that can be played with by children.

But don't you know Pumuckl and Ellis Kaut anymore at the Munich city administration? In any case, the construction company entrusted with the conversion does not seem to be able to do much with the most famous of all goblins. At the request of our editors, the building department announced: "The provisional sign shown in the photo was labeled and erected by the executing company in the course of the construction work." In doing so, the letter "r" was accidentally printed on the sign, as if by goblin's hand. "We have informed the company about the clerical error, it will now replace the faulty sign immediately," says the building department. So the shield soon disappears, becomes virtually invisible - like the goblin with the red hair.
