A woman from Freising had to be rescued from mountain distress in Lungau. She was traveling with her companion - and was surprised by the weather.
Lungau/Freising - Two exhausted mountaineers, one of them from Freising, had to be brought from the Moosermandl (2680 meters) in Lungau on Sunday due to heavy snowfall. The Freisinger had reached the summit together with a woman from Dresden around noon. However, the women were probably not informed in advance about the weather conditions prevailing there, official sources report.
Not equipped for heavy snowfall
Because at the summit there were wintry conditions with heavy snowfall - but the women were not equipped for this. "They therefore had to make an emergency call by mobile phone," police said.
