Attack on the military position of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip earlier today/IDF Spokesperson
On Sunday, an IDF remotely manned aircraft attacked Hamas military positions in the Gaza Strip, following the launching of incendiary balloons at communities near the Gaza Strip and the continuation of riots along the border fence. The two positions of the terrorist organization that were attacked were in the area of al-Bureij and Jabaliya, where the riots broke out. In the area of al-Bureij, an IED was even thrown at fighters, and there were no casualties.
Before the attack, hundreds of masked men burned tires and tried to approach the perimeter fence under cover of smoke. IDF soldiers used crowd control measures and opened sniper fire. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported three casualties. Meanwhile, two fires broke out in the envelope following incendiary balloons.

Meanwhile, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said in a joint statement yesterday that they would escalate the armed struggle against Israel and strengthen cooperation in all areas. The statement was made at the end of a meeting of senior PFLP figures, including Hamas deputy leader Salah Arouri, Islamic Jihad secretary general Ziad Nahaleh, and PFLP deputy secretary general Jamil Mazhar.
On Saturday, more riots broke out on the border, and IDF soldiers opened fire at a terrorist who threw an IED, and pistol fire was fired at the soldiers. An IDF drone attacked a Hamas position near the site of a violent disturbance, from which IDF forces fired at them. Palestinian media reported that balloons were launched at the envelope, but the IDF Spokesperson said that no incendiary balloons were identified that crossed the fence.

The day before, the IDF also attacked three Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip, following the border riots that occurred during Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the UN General Assembly. During the riots, dozens of Palestinians tried to sabotage the border fence. Fighters repelled the rioters with crowd control measures, and later two terrorists threw IEDs and were shot by snipers. At the same time, two fires broke out near the Gaza Strip as a result of incendiary balloons launched from the Gaza Strip.
An IDF spokesperson said: "Using a remotely manned aircraft and a tank, the IDF attacked two military positions of the Hamas terrorist organization, near sites where riots take place and from which incendiary balloons were launched near the border fence in the Gaza Strip, as well as another position of the organization located near the place from which shots were fired a short time ago at the security forces operating in the face of the disturbance. There are no casualties to our forces."
