Munich - The former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, is currently in Munich. But not to visit the Oktoberfest, where one celebrity after the other can be seen this year. Obama will give a one-hour lecture at the "Bits & Pretzels" conference at the Riem Exhibition Center on Monday evening, September 25, at 18 p.m. The three-day festival is aimed at founders and representatives of the start-up scene. The 59-year-old American receives a hefty fee for her assignment.

As Bild.de reported, the former first lady is to collect a total of 700,000 euros for her one-hour stage presence. According to the Bits & Pretzels website, Obama's talk will encourage listeners to recognize their unique strengths and overcome self-doubt. At the same time, she will address the importance of inclusion and diversity. From the point of view of the organizers, the biography of Barack Obama's wife speaks for itself: She was First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017, studied at Harvard, is a recognized lawyer as well as bestselling author, Grammy winner and mother.

According to Bild information, the American will not pay a visit to the Oktoberfest afterwards – for security concerns. Instead, Obama will visit a well-known delicatessen restaurant and live in one of Munich's luxury hotels. Other speakers at the start-up fair include Economics and Climate Minister Robert Habeck (Greens), professional soccer player and founder Oliver Kahn and presenter and producer Klaas Heufer-Umlauf.
