For the second weekend in a row, burglars were on the move in Markt Schwaben and this time also in the surrounding area. In Neufinsing, Pliening and Hohenlinden. Target: catering establishments.
Markt Schwaben - The series of burglaries does not stop: Once again, unknown perpetrators have invaded restaurants in Markt Schwaben and, for the first time, in the surrounding area. Or tried. As was the case a week ago, they did not get into the buildings everywhere and caused a lot of property damage. And the loot was also relatively small this time.
A week ago, the perpetrators had haunted a total of five restaurants in Markt Schwaben in the nights from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday. This time there were four in one night, in that from Saturday to Sunday, reports the police headquarters of Upper Bavaria North in Ingolstadt.
Tour started at go-kart hall
The first object was the go-kart hall in Neufinsing (Erding district) on the district border. The perpetrators pried open an entrance door and searched all the premises. Without success, as the police wrote in the press report of late Monday afternoon. The property damage amounts to several thousand euros.
The tour of the hitherto unknown burglars led on to Hohenlinden, where they probably tried to break into an inn on the main road shortly after midnight. However, it remained an attempt, because the window that the strangers had selected held firm.
According to the police headquarters, it was around 2:30 a.m. when the perpetrators entered the brewery restaurant on the main street in Markt Schwaben. There they had managed to pry open a window. From the guest room, they searched the entire building and found several purses and cash in the three-digit euro range.
Burglary also in brewery restaurant in Markt Schwaben
The tour continued to Pliening. There, according to the police, the strangers tried to pry open the front door of the pizzeria on Münchener Straße after 3 a.m. They were observed by witnesses who alerted the police. Shortly before the patrol arrived, the burglars fled in a vehicle, according to the police report. The immediately initiated manhunt, in which a police helicopter was also involved, was unsuccessful.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)
The Erding Criminal Investigation Department is investigating all cases of this series of burglaries. According to a spokesman for the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North, it is assumed that all the crimes are related and that they are the same perpetrators. "We are working at full speed on the clarification," said the spokesman.

My Area
A week ago, the strangers in Markt Schwaben had selected a Mexican, an Asian and two Italian restaurants and a café for their burglaries. Not everywhere they managed to get into the building. Where they managed, they left the restaurant with "little loot," according to police. Only in the café in the Dr.-Hartlaub-Ring did they have a greater sense of achievement: there they stole a "low five-digit cash amount", according to the police. The burglars had cracked the ATMs in the café.
In the course of the past week, another burglary was added in Markt Schwaben: On Wednesday night, unknown persons broke into a hairdressing salon and, according to police, took cash in the "low four-digit range".
Anyone who can provide information about the series of burglaries or has made suspicious observations is asked to report this to the Erding Criminal Investigation Department by calling (08122) 968-0.
