The 64-year-old had remained silent for nearly five years until Saturday, September 23 on the set of "What a time!". As a reminder, actress Sand Van Roy - his ex-mistress - filed a complaint in 2018 for sexual assault and rape against him. And although he always denied the accusations, he admitted from the outset to having had an extramarital relationship. "I have an exceptional wife. I'm very lucky, she's just perfect [...] she put me in the mouth, "he admitted lucidly.

"There is only one justice"

Five years later, the case is closed. In 2021, the case was dismissed in favour of Luc Besson, confirmed a year later by the Paris Court of Appeal. The Court of Cassation has definitively dismissed the accusations made against the director last June. "It takes a lot of time but I'm quite admiring the work the judges have done. They are not there to defend one or the other. [...] There is only one justice. There are not several, nor media justice, "he shared in front of Cyril Hanouna before recalling that he has never been indicted. "If justice had had doubts, I would have been indicted. [...] It is nevertheless good to remember that accused does not mean guilty."

Indeed, Luc Besson confided the empty passage he lived, experiencing the solidity or not of his friendships even if the most difficult was for his family. "To say that something is not true, it is necessary above all to say what is true. The first part was true so the hardest part was facing my children, "he explained before recalling that he had to explain the reasons why he had cheated on the mother of his three children. "But I also had to understand why. I went to see a shrink", revealed the director of The Fifth Element before adding: "I love my wife more than anything, I love my children more than anything so why have betrayed the people we love".
