Senta Berger can currently be seen again in a feature film – but the appearances of the 82-year-old are becoming rare. She is slowly but surely planning her retirement from the acting industry.
Munich – Senta Berger (82) has been successful in the acting business for more than 60 years. Born in Austria, she has achieved everything from series appearances to TV feature films to big box office hits. In the future, however, fans will see them less: Senta Berger plans to leave the acting business and withdraw from the public eye.
More time for the family: Senta Berger plans to end her acting career
Senta Berger, who is currently involved in the gender debate about Heino (84), can currently be seen in the film "Do you still know" in the cinema. Before that, the actress had already taken a long break – she was not seen in a cinema production for seven years. There is also a reason for this, as the TV celebrity now reveals to Welt am Sonntag: Senta Berger is slowly but surely planning to get out of the TV business and instead enjoy her family life.
"I work a lot less now than I did a few years ago, when I made three or four films a year. I definitely wanted to work less, because my years are manageable," explains the "Welcome to the Hartmanns" actress. As she grew older, she shifted the center of her life – and wanted to have more time for her four grandchildren and her husband. Senta Berger is well on her way to retiring from acting – she is "still on the retreat".
Senta Berger's role in "Do You Remember"
"Do You Remember" is about bleak marriage routines, old memories and a special time travel experiment. Senta Berger slips into the role of Marianne, who has been married to her husband Günter for 50 years. With a miracle pill, the couple is supposed to rekindle their rusty love and remember the good times and the first spring fever. Günter is played by Günther Maria Halmer (80). The film has been in cinemas since September 21, 2023.
Selected film projects: Senta Berger only shoots in the immediate vicinity of her family
Born in Vienna, she currently lives in the south of Munich and does not want to travel far for her job. "I now choose whether a film project fits into my life situation," she emphasizes. Her current feature film was obviously a perfect fit – after all, it was shot in the Bavarian district of Starnberg. The filming took place "just around the corner, near our house. That means I was back home every night. That was wonderful," enthuses Senta Berger.

Although the 82-year-old can look back on a great career, she has since rejected the idea of recording her experiences in a second book. "On the one hand, because I've worked so much as an actress, and on the other hand, because I didn't want to write a collection of anecdotes that just consists of name-dropping," she explains. Her family life remains private anyway. Most recently, however, Senta Berger chatted about her love for her husband and her hometown of Vienna. Sources used:Welt am Sonntag
