3 / 9In the Nuremberg region, right at the gates of the Middle Franconian city, there are countless trekking and hiking tours. Particularly popular is the Franconian Dune Trail - which actually leads along dunes. Divided into several stages, the starting point is usually in Altdorf, which can be reached comfortably with the S2. From Gunzenhausen you can reach the Altmühlsee directly, the Großer Brombachsee can be reached by bus. Both lakes offer sandy beaches for relaxing and numerous water activities such as sailing and surfing. 5 / 9With the 49-euro ticket to the Zugspitze – no problem! It takes about five to six hours in total – so you should definitely get up early. From Nuremberg, you can take the regional train and bus to the Eibsee Zugspitzbahn near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It takes about 13 hours and leads across the Federal Republic of Germany - if you like travel itself, you will get your money's worth here during the beautiful stopovers.
