The closure of the Autobahn 2 between Magdeburg and Hanover, which lasted several hours, has been lifted after two truck accidents. Accordingly, the roadway is free again in both directions, as the police announced late in the evening.
Magdeburg - At a construction site between Eilsleben and Bornstedt, a truck hit the crash barriers and then tipped to the side. According to the police, the car was fully loaded with one-liter packs of engine oil, which were damaged in the accident. The 53-year-old driver was slightly injured. Initially, nothing was known about the cause of the accident.
Around 8:00 a.m., there was a rear-end collision on the oncoming lane further west with three trucks involved and one seriously injured. A 54-year-old driver realized too late that a truck driving in front of him was slowing down due to traffic jams, police said. He crashed into the tractor-trailer and was seriously injured and flown to hospital by helicopter. A third truck was damaged by flying debris. The other two drivers were uninjured. Dpa
