A fire broke out in the basement of a hotel and spread to the ground floor. 200 guests and employees had to be evacuated.
Rimbach - A fire broke out in the basement of a hotel in Rimbach (Cham district) on Monday evening, September 25. The flames spread to the ground floor of the building, but were contained by a large contingent of the fire brigade. This was announced by a spokesman for the police.
Fire in hotel in Rimbach (Upper Palatinate): 200 guests and employees evacuated
Due to the heavy smoke, around 200 hotel guests and employees had to be evacuated. The guests were accommodated in a neighboring school gym. School operations have been cancelled for Tuesday.
Seven people were slightly injured in the fire, three of them were taken to a clinic as a precaution. Two firefighters were also slightly injured. However, they only had to be treated on an outpatient basis.

250 firefighters on site at hotel fire in the Upper Palatinate
Around 250 firefighters were on site. The cause of the fire is still unclear. The damage is currently estimated at a seven-figure sum. (kam/dpa)
