Shabbar Abbas, the father of the young Saman, killed at the age of 18 in the countryside of Novellara on April 30, 2021, burst into tears in the courtroom as he heard the story of the pathologist Cristina Cattaneo and the other experts on the death of his daughter.

In recent days, in fact, the final expert report on the autopsy on Saman's corpse has been filed and the report is underway before the Assize Court of Reggio Emilia. According to the report, Saman was killed by strangulation and then buried in the pit of Strada Reatino, where she was found after a year and a half of searching; the hole would have been dug with only shovels, compatible with those found in the Campagnola house of his uncle Danish Hasnain and the two accused cousins.

Saman's father, Shabbar Abbas, who was recently extradited, is also accused of masterminding the murder of his daughter, who had rebelled against a forced marriage, together with his wife (still at large).
