Two men were fined for making middle fingers and insulting Emmanuel Macron during his visit to Alsace in April, we learned Wednesday (September 27th) from the Colmar prosecutor's office.
On April 19, the President of the Republic was widely booed during a visit to Sélestat (Bas-Rhin), his first crowd bath after the promulgation of the law reforming pensions. Two protesters with no criminal record appeared on Monday on prior admission of guilt for contempt of public authority. One was fined €400, of which €300 was suspended, and the other was fined €400, of which €200 was suspended.
A third person who was to appear, a woman, did not appear and will be tried on April 2, 2024 before the criminal court.
