Mega blow against ATM blasters in Bavaria: police arrest 50 people

More than 1000,3000 police officers, more than 50,<> controlled vehicles and <> arrests - this is the result of a nationwide police operation against ATM blasters in Bavaria.

Munich – In the course of a nationwide action against ATM explosions, Bavarian police forces have taken 50 people into custody. This was announced on Wednesday, September 27, by the Bavarian State Office of Criminal Investigation (LKA). However, the detainees were all imprisoned for other offences such as human smuggling, freshly committed burglaries or violations of the Narcotics Act.

Large-scale action against ATM bombers – with success

From Sunday to Wednesday, the officers carried out nightly checks in areas that are considered high-risk zones for ATM explosions from a police point of view. According to the information, over 3000 vehicles and 4000 people were checked in Bavaria. During these four days, more than 1000,100 police officers were on duty, according to the LKA. A spokesman announced that nearly <> criminal charges have been filed.

In addition to Bavaria, Lower Saxony, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein took part in the third such action against ATM explosions. The action was coordinated by a task force in Lower Saxony, which deals specifically with the topic of ATM explosions.

ATM explosions at record level in 2022 – fewer cases in Bavaria in 2023 than in the previous year

Last year, the number of ATM explosions reached a record high throughout Germany. Despite this trend, the number of cases in Bavaria has so far been below the level of the previous year, according to the LKA. Most recently, the explosion of an ATM in Pielenhofen (Regensburg district) caused a stir.
