The reconstruction of the Neuperlach Süd underground station and thus the extension of the U5 is within reach. Now an important agreement has been signed.
District – Bavaria's Minister of Transport Christian Bernreiter (CSU), District Administrator Christoph Göbel (CSU) and MVG Managing Director Ingo Wortmann have jointly signed a financing agreement to carry out a feasibility study for the area of the Neuperlach Süd public transport hub. This was announced by constituency representative Kerstin Schreyer (CSU) in a press release.
Prerequisite for further planning
The feasibility study is a prerequisite for further planning for the sustainable design around Neuperlach Süd. With the new construction of the MVG subway depot, the basic prerequisite for the further expansion of the subway service, the extension of the U5 into the district of Munich and the expansion of the S7, three extensive projects meet here.
Schreyer: "Important step for the further expansion of public transport"
Kerstin Schreyer: "The signing of the financing agreement is an important step for the further expansion of public transport in the district of Munich. We need a double-track S7 East to minimize the susceptibility to faults. In the same way, we need the extension of the U5 for a low-emission transport connection to the aerospace campus in Taufkirchen/Ottobrunn. With the signature, we have come a big step closer to the realization of these projects."
