More than 68,000 Armenians have fled Nagorno-Karabakh, a breakaway region with an Armenian majority landlocked in Azerbaijan, in recent days, days after the Azeri regime won a military blitzkrieg. The leader of the enclave, Samvel Shakhramanian, announced on Thursday the dissolution of his government on January 1, 2024, pushing thousands of refugees into the Lachin corridor, the only road connecting the enclave to Armenia.
