On Thursday evening, the German Television Award was presented on ZDF. At the start of the event, some celebrities belted out a version of the hit "Celebration". However, this did not meet the taste of the people in front of the screen at all.
Cologne – On Thursday (28 September) it was that time again and the TV world gathered to honour the best among them with the German Film Awards. The spectacle was broadcast live at primetime on ZDF. For the opening, those responsible had come up with something special – but the hoped-for enthusiasm among the spectators definitely failed to materialize.
Vocal interlude: Tom Beck and Anna Ermakova open the German Television Award with celebrity colleagues
While Barbara Schöneberger (49) had secretly said goodbye to the German Television Award, numerous other TV personalities appeared on Thursday evening at the event in Cologne to testify, among other things, how Michael Bully Herbig (55) was presented with his honorary award. The opening, on the other hand, was not well received by the audience.
Actor Tom Beck (45), "Let's Dance" winner Anna Ermakova (23), "The Voice Kids" winner Emma (25) and TV chef Nelson Müller (44) performed a "German Television Award" version of "Celebration" to open the event. The text was adapted to the audience and the nominees. But while the four performed with dancers and a lot of noise, there were already some skeptical looks in the audience. And horror also reigned in front of the screens.

"Fever Dream": Viewers horrified by the opening at the German Television Awards
On X, formerly Twitter, the opening was actively discussed. "Just accidentally turned on the German Television Awards. What the hell is that for an absolute cringe opening? Like a car accident. You don't want to look, but you can't look away either," wrote one user, sharing his unembellished opinion. Various others joined: "That wasn't so good at all", "What's that fever dream again" and "Oh you sh..... it's really cringe," they commented on the performance.

What was also particularly surprising about the performance was that Anna Ermakova sang in German. The daughter of Boris Becker (55) lives in London and had difficulties with the language in "Let's Dance" again and again. However, Anna Ermakova has already indicated that she might want to move to Germany soon. Sources used: ZDF; Twitter.com
