The foreign ministers of the European Union met on Monday 2 October in Kiev, a "historic meeting" aimed at expressing "solidarity" with this country facing the Russian invasion, said the head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell.

I am convening the foreign ministers in Kiev today, the first meeting of all 27 member countries outside the EU," Borrell said on X (formerly Twitter).
Meeting welcomed by Ukraine
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba welcomed the first meeting of his European counterparts in Kiev, "within the future borders of the European Union."

This is a historic event because for the first time we are meeting outside (...) the borders of the European Union - but within the future borders of the European Union," said Dmytro Kouleba while receiving his counterparts.
