On Thursday, September 28, witnesses recorded the moment a migrant was assaulted by a member of the Texas National Guard as he attempted to cross the border through a barbed wire fence extended on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande.
The video shows the moment in which the agent physically assaults him while reproaching him for having tried to cross with a child and shouts several insults, among which stands out "I have no mercy on animals!"
Growing groups of migrants have crossed into the United States from Mexico in recent weeks, alarming authorities in border cities in both countries and causing delays in trade.
