In Berlin, there was another sit-in blockade of the "Last Generation". The Berlin police asked to remain calm, but then passers-by intervened.
Berlin – On Monday morning, October 02, 2023, there were again several seat blocks of the climate activists of the "Last Generation". The Berlin police reported the blocked roads on X (formerly Twitter) and thus kept the disgruntled motorists up to date. "Our colleagues are on site as quickly as possible to prevent and trigger them. We ask you to remain calm and not to intervene on your own," wrote the police at 07:59 a.m. on their X-account "Polizei Berlin Einsatz". But for some, this warning came too late and they took action themselves.
At 09:34 a.m., the police found a waste oil-like mass at two blockades. This was spread over several square meters on the roadway. The "last generation" also commented on the road pollution on their Instagram account: "Oil on the streets of Berlin," they wrote and demanded, "we have to get out of oil, gas and coal, worldwide and as quickly as possible." In addition, the activists glued themselves to the street with the help of a sand-glue mixture. Only half an hour after the first police report, some passers-by lost patience.

Activists of the "Last Generation" are pelted with eggs and spat on
Participants are said to have thrown an egg at the demonstrators and spat on them. As a result, the police filed criminal charges against the suspects. There are more and more clashes between climate activists and motorists or passers-by. Therefore, the police warn once again urgently: "Keep calm and do not make yourself liable to prosecution."
Two members of the "Last Generation" comment on the attacks in a video on Instagram. In an interview, they were asked where the "uninhibited aggression" came from. As an example, an article by Merkur.de was also cited in which we reported on a pepper spray attack on activists. Activist Henning replied that many want to suppress the climate catastrophe and are more angry with the activists.
But in the comments, some Instagram users voiced criticism: "People are angry because you are directing the crimes against them, but the government thinks." Others can understand the demands of the activists, but not their actions: "Guys, I am absolutely with you, but you have to develop a new strategy by taking the people with us." In recent weeks, there have been criminal charges not only against motorists, but also against the members of the "Last Generation". Some are now facing long prison sentences. (mima
