October 3 update: A cyclist (83) died in hospital on Monday from serious injuries in a traffic accident. The man had been hit on Friday evening when crossing a federal highway with his bike in Nuremberg by the car of a motorist without a driver's license, as the police of Middle Franconia announced. The 33-year-old is being investigated.
The 83-year-old was thrown by the force of the impact, according to the information, several meters further on the road and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was immediately taken to a hospital. The 33-year-old driver was first driven on and then found not far from the scene of the accident by the police.

The driver fled from the scene of the accident, but the vehicle was found empty a little later with the help of witnesses. This was announced by the police.

Cyclist thrown several meters through the air in an accident in Nuremberg - danger to life
According to the police, the cyclist wanted to cross a road around 23 p.m. and overlooked the car coming from the right. The 83-year-old had been thrown by the force of the impact several meters further on the road. A witness had observed the accident and was able to provide information about the fleeing car during the emergency call.
